Wood heads home

US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) chairman Pat Wood is to decline a second term as head of the regulatory agency, which oversees the transmission and sale of natural gas, oil and wholesale electricity in the US.

Wood plans to return to his native Texas to be with his family when his term is complete at the end of June. Beyond this, Wood says he has no firm career plans, although he told reporters in late April
