Legal & General launches US fixed-income team

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) is boosting its US fixed-income business by setting up a new US investment-grade fixed-income team based in Chicago. It has also hired a new global head of fixed income, Roger Bartley, to replace John Monckton, who was fatally stabbed during a burglary in 2004.

The Chicago team will be led by head of US investment-grade bonds John Bender, who joins LGIM from Aegon, where he was head of US investment-grade fixed income. A spokesperson says the fund
