BGI hires head of institutions for Asia

Barclays Global Investors has hired James Blair as head of official institutions for Asia, excluding Japan. Blair, who is based in Singapore, manages institutional sales to central banks, government investment agencies and state pension funds.

“This is a strategic hire which will give additional focus on this key client sector, a core part of BGI’s business in Asia,” says Jonathan Pye, head of distribution for BGI in Asia excluding Japan.

Blair joins BGI from Fidelity Investments in Hong Kong
