Ferguson to run Swiss Re Americas

Roger Ferguson, who resigned as vice-chairman of the Federal Reserve in January, is to join Swiss Re as chairman of Swiss Re Americas.

Ferguson will succeed Jacques Dubois, who is to retire by the end of the year. He will also become the company's financial market strategist, responsible for its use of the capital markets to handle insurance risk. The company said Ferguson would be responsible for providing "long-term direction" to its $129 billion portfolio.
