Sean Park leaves Dresdner

Sean Park is leaving Dresdner Kleinwort this month following the closure of the bank’s digital markets division. Park, who managed digital markets – Dresdner’s client-facing e-trading group – plans to take the winter off to spend some time with his family.

He is currently overseeing the rollback of digital markets into the bank’s business groups.

Park had managed digital markets since the division was launched in April 2005, at that time managing it in conjunction with another role as global head of credit flow products. He relinquished the credit role to focus solely on digital markets earlier this year.

The closure of digital markets followed a review of capital markets, which prompted Dresdner to refocus on its most profitable areas, says a source close the bank.

A source at the bank says redundancies stemming from the closure of digital markets were in “single figures”.
