Calyon hires Taiwan capital markets head

Calyon has hired Eric Chien as head of capital markets in Taiwan.

Chien joins the French bank from Taishin International, where he was head of treasury and financial markets in Taipei. He has also previously worked for UBS and China Securities in Taiwan.

Jacques Beyssade, head of capital markets for Asia-Pacific ex-Japan, says the hire is part of an expansion of the bank’s capital markets activities in the region. “Eric brings us an expert knowledge of the Taiwanese market, having worked for some of the top players there, and we are confident that under his leadership our trading floor in Taipei will reach the next level.”

Chien reports to Beyssade and to Philippe Pellegrin, senior country officer for Calyon in Taiwan.
