Barclays names Americas chief

Barclays Americas has named a successor for the outgoing chairman, Chet Feldberg. Long-time Morgan Stanley banker Archie Cox takes up the position on May 5.

Cox set up Morgan Stanley’s international arm in 1977 and was its CEO until he left in 1988. He has also served as president and CEO of First Boston Corporation and on the boards of the UK Securities Industries and Investment Board and, in the US, the Securities Industry Association.

More recently, Cox formed the private equity firm Sextant
