El-Erian returns to Pimco after HMC stint

Mohamed El-Erian is rejoining Pimco after less than two years running Harvard University's endowment fund.

El-Erian says he is returning from Boston to Pimco's California headquarters for family reasons. He will take on a new position as co-CEO and co-chief investment officer of the world's largest bond manager in January, joining CEO Bill Thompson and Pimco founder Bill Gross on the firm's senior
