BlueMountain launches ABS trading platform

Hedge fund BlueMountain has launched a new ABS platform in New York which will form part of the BlueMountain credit alternatives fund.

David Burt joins the firm to manage the portfolio from AlderTree Capital Partners, where he was co-founder and chief investment officer. Erik Larson, formerly lead analyst and chief technology officer at AlderTree, also joins as a primary ABS credit analyst.

BlueMountain has also bought AlderTree's proprietary analytics and technology platform. The new ABS platform
