SEC names market surveillance chief

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has confirmed Mark Lineberry as head of its office of market surveillance.

Lineberry has been acting head of the division since his predecessor, Joe Cella, retired in February this year. The market surveillance office is part of the SEC's enforcement division, and is charged with dealing with referrals from exchanges and tracking trading patterns.
