Del Fante quits JP Morgan Chase

Matteo Del Fante has quit his job as head of JP Morgan Chase’s public sector business for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Del Fante, who was not available for comment, is to take a job in the Italian public sector, according to sources.

In his old job, Del Fante had joint reporting lines to the heads of JP Morgan Chase’s European investment banking and credit and rates businesses. He had previously been involved in derivatives marketing.

The firm is believed to have a number of European sovereigns as derivatives counterparties. Del Fante’s replacement will be Jakob Stott, who is currently chairman of JP Morgan Chase’s investment banking business for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Meanwhile, the US bank has appointed Stephen Stonberg, formerly head of European credit derivatives marketing, to the newly created post of head of business development and competitive strategy. Stonberg reports to head of European credit and rates Fawzi Kyriakos-Saad and Tom Hoppe, chief operating officer for global credit and rates.
