People - Richard Duncan joins ABN AMRO

ABN AMRO Asset Management has appointed Richard Duncan as head of investment strategy. Duncan is an economist who has established his authority on economic and Asian monetary policy with the publication of the book "The Dollar Crisis."

He was one of the first to warn of the impending economic crisis in Thailand in the mid-1990s and worked as a consultant for the International Monetary Fund at the height of the Asian financial crisis. He subsequently joined the World Bank in Washington, D.C.

This is his second stint with ABN AMRO, following a period as an analyst with ABN AMRO in Hong Kong, and in his latest role he will oversee strategic research, analysing relative performance among the major asset categories.
