Solvency II - CEIOPS report contributor warns against regulatory arbitrage

Inconsistency in the approval of internal models could lead to regulatory arbitrage, warned a key figure in the drafting of a CEIOPS report on the state of internal modelling in the EU insurance and pensions industries.

The report, approved at a members’ meeting in Frankfurt on January 21, details the result of exercises initiated at the request of the European Commission to investigate the techniques used in European firms to model their risk exposures, and is in preparation for proposals
