Senior changes at Swiss insurance regulator

Monica Machler, former legal advisor to Zurich Insurance Group, became director of the Federal Office of Private Insurance (FOPI) at the start of 2007. She replaces Herbert Luthy, who is retiring. Meanwhile, Rene Schnieper, currently head of reinsurance at FOPI, will replace Phillip Keller as head of the development of insurance supervision from 1 April, and will also become member of the board.
