California grid operator names interim CEO

The California independent system operator (Cal ISO) has hired Marcie Edwards as interim chief executive, while it seeks a permanent replacement for Terry Winter who resigned on June 1.

Edwards, currently general manager of Anaheim Public Utilities in California, will take an unpaid leave of absence to assume the three- to six-month position as of July 1, 2004.

The Cal ISO is a not-for-profit corporation charged with managing the flow of electricity on the state’s wholesale power grid.
