New heads for RWE Trading and RWE Power

Brian Count will leave his post as chief executive of RWE Trading, the trading arm of German utility RWE, as of July 1, when he will be replaced by Peter Terium, head of RWE group controlling. And Jan Zilius is expected to take over as chief executive of RWE Power from Gert Maichel, subject to approval of RWE’s supervisory board.

Count resigned his post voluntarily, said RWE Trading, one of the major European energy-trading companies. He joined the RWE group in September 2003 to integrate the UK and German trading businesses, with the understanding that he would then return to the UK. Count was previously chief executive of RWE Innogy, now RWE npower, the former UK utility that he has integrated into the RWE group.
