Nord Pool entices Russian companies

A delegation of Russian companies yesterday met with Nord Pool to discuss the possibility of becoming members of the Oslo-based electricity exchange.

RAO, a fully integrated energy company and a joint-stock company with fellow Russian energy company UES, is the only Russian participant in the Nordic power market at present.

Hartvig Munthe-Kaas, Nord Pool’s senior vice-president, told Energy Risk he met with 25 individuals from various Russian companies to discuss how they could join the exchange.
