Patrick Brazel, who was managing director at Sungard Capital Markets, has been appointed to the new position of president at the software vendor.

Brazel's new role reflects the "continued development of Sungard's business" and clarifies the vendor's structure with regard to its parent company, Sungard Data Systems, says a vendor spokesperson.

Coopers & Lybrand has hired Roger Coffin as director of securities regulatory services. Coffin was formerly branch chief at the market regulation division of the US's Securities and Exchange Commission.

At the SEC, Coffin helped draw up various broker-dealer regulations, including capital standards, risk assessment, reporting requirements and derivatives and control issues.

Rebecca Bond has left Lombard Document Systems to join Intuitive Products International (IPI) as its global director of sales and marketing.

IPI is a consultancy company that specializes in middle and back office operational systems for the derivatives and foreign exchange industry. Clients include ABN Amro, Chase Manhattan and Dresdner Bank.

Peter Watts is the new sales and marketing director at Tantus, the London-based deal capture systems vendor.

Watts had most recently held a similar role at Singer & Friedlander. Before that, he worked for British Telecom's Syntegra and Cats Software.
