Roger Preece, formerly head of business development at London-based Sumitomo Finance International (SFI), has been promoted to managing director of operations.

Preece took up his new post at the start of this year, he says. It involves overseeing five areas of responsibility: systems, budgeting, administration, settlement and new business development.

SFI has also hired Rick Weight as its technology director and Patrick Clackson as finance director. Both report directly to Preece.

Preece adds that
