FSA and BBA lose key staff

LONDON -- Both the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the UK's financial regulator, and the British Bankers Association (BBA), a major industry association, have lost key operational risk staff.

In March, John Thirlwell, BBA director, opted for a voluntary redundancy package -- the association has shed about 20% of its staff. Simon Wills, a director who currently oversees other Basel issues, will now look after op risk. Thirlwell has taken on a non-executive director position at SVB Syndicate
