US's Securities Exchange Commission has named Michael McAlevey deputy director of the corporate finance division, succeeding Meredith Cross. McAlevey will be a senior advisor to the director and play a key role in managing the division, says a spokesperson for the SEC. He joins from the Atlanta law firm, Alston & Bird, where he was a partner and assistant head of the capital markets practice group.
