Steven Ward is Morgan Stanley's new head of global technology and operations. Ward was formerly Morgan's chief executive and head of investment banking for European business.

He reports to John Mack, Morgan Stanley's president. As part of his promotion, Ward becomes a member of the investment bank's management committee.

Ward replaces David Booth who has decided to "pursue other interests". Booth will become an advisory director of Morgan Stanley, says a spokesperson.
