Erwin Martens has joined Putnam Investments as managing director, head of risk management, reporting to Irene Esteves, managing director, chief financial officer. Martens will be responsible for assessing investment risk associated with new instruments proposed for portfolios and risk associated with new products. With more than 14 years of experience in the industry, Martens was formerly a member of Lehman Brothers' derivatives and risk management team, and he worked for Credit Suisse in Zurich
