Eurex appoints director of US office

Eurex, the Frankfurt-based derivatives exchange, has named Heike Eckert as director of its US representative office.

She will be responsible for supporting existing US customers and acquiring new ones, as well as business development. In the new role, she will be based in Chicago and report to Michael Peters, global head of marketing and sales.

Eckert takes on some responsibilities held by Richard Heckinger, formerly head of Eurex’s US representative office, and Michael McErlean, who was previously director of sales and marketing for Chicago-based Eurex US.

Eurex sold a 70% interest in Eurex US, now known as the US Futures Exchange, to Man Group in July 2006.
