Deutsche poaches Grenfell from Macquarie as Asia commodities head

A Macquarie spokeswoman said there is no intention to replace him directly.

Working in the global credit trading product group, Grenfell reports regionally to Sajid Javid, head of global credit trading in Asia excluding Japan, and globally to David Silbert, global head of commodities at Deutsche Bank.

Grenfell will be responsible for expanding the German bank’s regional commodities platform.

He has 15 years’ experience in a range of commodities markets, including metals, energy and soft commodities, and he has in the past worked for Goldman Sachs in London and Morgan Stanley in Singapore. Grenfell started his career at Macquarie Bank in Sydney.
