Deutsche appoints head of Latin American strategy

Deutsche Bank has appointed Piero Ghezzi as head of Latin American strategy, with responsibility for analysing the region's debt, foreign exchange, local bond and fixed-income derivatives markets.

Ghezzi joined Deutsche’s emerging markets research department in 1999, prior to which he was an assistant professor of international macroeconomics at Johns Hopkins University and a consultant for the Inter-American Bank for Development. His last position at Deutsche was head of sovereign strategy.

“As local markets continue to develop and investment opportunities increase, Piero's new function reflects the firm’s expectations for continued business growth throughout Latin America,” said David Sekiguchi, Deutsche’s global head of emerging markets strategy.

Ghezzi is and remains based in New York.
