BNP Paribas hires Swaddling and Small in hedge fund drive

BNP Paribas has appointed Paul Swaddling and Cameron Small as senior salesmen to its European institutional client unit, within the French bank's fixed-income division.

Swaddling, who was previously head of interest rate options at HSBC, will cover hedge funds and co-ordinate the flow rates volatility business. He will report to David de Martins Silva, head of European rates hedge fund sales.

Small, who starts on September 1, will sell macro strategies to hedge funds and real-money accounts, reporting jointly to Alistair Mullen, head of European frequent-user rates, and Francois Boisson, head of European foreign exchange sales. Small previously served as a director in macro sales and head of multi-product sales at ABN Amro.

Stefano Paschetto, head of the European institutional client group, said the pair would play an integral role in the bank’s drive to strengthen its overall flow rates coverage and further develop key relationships with hedge fund and institutional investor clients.
