Freddie Mac names new fixed-income investment head

Freddie Mac has hired Patricia Cook to head its fixed-income investments. Cook, who will report to Richard Syron, Freddie Mac’s chairman and chief executive, joins from JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management, where she was chief investment officer for global fixed income. She will join the company as executive vice-president for investments on August 2.

Cook will be responsible for managing the company's approximately $630 billion retained mortgage portfolio and its debt issuance, as well as its asset/liability risk management strategies.

"Excellence in investment and risk management has long been a hallmark at Freddie Mac, and Patti's expertise in global capital markets makes her a superb addition," Syron said. "Patti will lead a team with significant depth and capability in the risk and investment management areas."
