Deutsche Bank adds to mortgages team

Critelli joins the German bank from Merrill Lynch’s agency CMO structuring and trading group. Prior to joining Merrill in 2001, he was at PaineWebber trading pass-through mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and structuring and trading agency CMOs.

Critelli will report to Nicholas Letica, who joined Deutsche Bank in March as a managing director and head of agency CMO trading. Deutsche’s US residential mortgage group is co-led by Jon Kinol, head of fixed income derivatives and Fred Brettschneider, global head of securitised products trading.

Other hires to the mortgages team during the past 12 months include Nicholas Mestanas and Dan Levene, as head of agency MBS trading and senior MBS trader, respectively. Both joined from Goldman Sachs. Deutsche also hired Eric Londa as head of CMO trading from Countrywide Securities, and senior MBS derivatives trader Felix Partow from Nomura Securities.
