BarCap hires chief sterling strategist

Robinson replaces Petya Koeva in the role, who left to join the International Monetary Fund earlier this year. He was formerly at the Bank of England, where he headed the UK Conjunctural Assessment Team. There, he was responsible for briefing the Monetary Policy Committee on the UK economy’s condition and short-term prospects.

He will now be tasked with drawing up Barclays’ sterling forecasts in London. He reports to David Woo, the investment bank’s head of global foreign exchange strategy.
