Van Tonder takes over as Front’s South Africa head

Cliff van Tonder has assumed leadership of Front Capital Systems’ South Africa office. He will maintain relations with existing Front clients such as ABSA, Standard Bank, Nedcor and Investec, as well as targeting new clients likely to include prominent brokers, the South African Government’s treasury, the Industrial Development Corporation and power companies such as Escom.

Van Tonder takes over from Lisa Whissen, who returns to Europe as manager of special projects for the SunGard Trading Systems operating unit. She will report to Stephen Butcher, head of Front’s global operations.

Van Tonder will manage a team of between five and 10 staff. He will also target business development in Africa, specifically Tanzania, Nigeria and Kenya, and the Middle East.
