Algorithmics promotes Zerbs to COO

Canadian risk software and systems provider Algorithmics has promoted Michael Zerbs, formerly vice-president of research and product marketing, to chief operating officer - a newly created position.

Zerbs, who has worked at Algorithmics for 13 years, will oversee all customer-facing and field-focused activities, including sales, marketing and professional services.

He previously had responsibility for the strategic direction and conceptual development of all Algorithmics' software, including the design and marketing efforts of most of the company’s risk management products. Zerbs has also managed several large client implementation projects and joined Algorithmics' board in February last year.

Meanwhile, Algorithmics' chief technology officer, Yaacov Mutnikas, will take on additional duties in research, financial architecture and engineering. He will continue to run software development.
