Deutsche hires senior FX strategist from JP Morgan Chase

Deutsche Bank has hired Bilal Hafeez from JP Morgan Chase as a senior foreign exchange strategist.

Hefeez spent four years at JP Morgan Chase in London, most recently as vice-president in the foreign exchange research group, where part of his role involved monitoring options markets.

Stuart Parkinson, chief operating officer of research at Deutsche Bank in London, said Hafeez will concentrate on providing “more rigorous analysis of short term developments”.

Hafeez will analyse macroeconomic indicators and the interplay between FX cash and derivatives markets – how increases and decreases in delta hedging impact exchange rates – to make exchange rate forecasts of typically less than three months.

Hafeez joins Deutsche at director level and remains London-based.
