CFTC names new chairman

Jeffery left office yesterday to join the US government as undersecretary of state for economic, energy and agricultural affairs. Lukken will take his place until a successor is appointed and confirmed.

Lukken has been a CFTC commissioner since 2002, and is chairman of the commission's global markets advisory committee. Before joining CFTC, he was a lawyer for the US Senate's agriculture committee.
