New EMEA FICC head for Bank of America Merrill Lynch

Sanaz Zaimi will join Bank of America Merrill Lynch as head of fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC) sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in early 2010.

She will replace Antonio Polverino, who moved to Royal Bank of Scotland in June, and will also be head of debt and equity structured products sales for EMEA.

Based in London, she will report to David Gu and Michael Stewart, co-heads of EMEA global markets, and Mike Meyer, global head of sales for global markets.

Sanaz joins from Goldman Sachs, where she has spent six years. She has held numerous roles at the firm, including head of structured products for Italy and managing director in the London office of the FICC division. Most recently she was co-head of structured sales for Europe.
