ABN Amro hires head of European CMBS

Dutch bank ABN Amro has appointed David Newby in a dual position as head of European commercial mortgage-backed securitisation (CMBS), and UK and Irish securitisation.

Newby joins from UBS Warburg in London, where he has worked as a director of asset-backed finance since 1994. He has worked on UK and Irish securitisations for a number of issuers, including British Land, Bradford and Bingley and Bank of Ireland.

ABN Amro has also appointed Nehal Farooqui as associate director of securitisation to support Newby. Both will be based in London and will report to Mike Nawas, European head of asset securitisation at ABN Amro.
