Deutsche appoints group treasurers

Deutsche Bank has appointed Chris Whitman as group treasurer, replacing Detlef Bindert.

Bindert retired at the end of 2006 after 23 years at the bank, eight of them as group treasurer. Whitman will be based in London and will report to Richard Evans, deputy chief risk officer. Whitman has been the bank’s head of debt capital markets in North America for the past five years.

Knut Pohlen has been appointed deputy group treasurer, replacing Michael Reuther. Pohlen takes on this role while remaining global head of funding and liquidity management, a position he has held for the last two years. He will be based in London and will report to Whitman.
