OCC separates its risk management function

Michael Walinskas has assumed the role of senior vice-president responsible for risk management at the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC). His duties were previously covered by Andrew Naughton, formerly the chief financial officer of the Chicago-based equity derivatives clearing house.

Prior to his current role, Walinskas was a senior vice-president in the product and business development division at the OCC. He joined the OCC in 1999 from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he was most recently an associate director in the division of market regulation.

Throughout his career at OCC, Mike has been very successful at managing a wide range of responsibilities,” said Michael Cahill, president and chief operating officer of the OCC. “We are extremely pleased to announce Mike’s promotion to lead these key OCC functions.”
