Barclays boosts Asian credit team

Barclays Capital has continued its drive to boost its Asian credit derivatives business with another new hire in Hong Kong. William Pang joined the bank yesterday as director of Asian credit derivatives with responsibility for market risk.

Pang reports to Eric Slighton, Hong Kong-based managing director and head of credit derivatives for Asia. He previously worked at Deutsche Bank in Singapore, where he was director of Asian credit derivatives trading.

“Pang is one of the few traders in the region to have traded Asian risk through the region’s debt crisis to today,” said Slighton.

Pang’s hire follows the appointment of David Ling and How-Chih Lee, who joined Barclays Capital in August as directors of Asian credit derivatives.
