Credaris makes key hires to bolster risk management

London-based credit hedge fund Credaris Portfolio Management has made a number of top-level appointments and promotions to shore up its risk management capabilities.

Claus Huber, previously head of quantitative analytics, and William Lavelle, an operations manager, will take up the new positions of chief risk officer and chief operating officer respectively. Credaris chief executive Andrew Donaldson said the development of the two new internal roles highlights the firm’s commitment to risk management.

Meanwhile, the €1.3 billion fund has hired Scott Dowle, who previously led the hedge fund technology team at Barclays Global Investors in both San Francisco and London, as head of technology, specialising in building strategic trading, pricing and risk platforms across a range of asset classes.

Credaris has also hired Christian Evans as a corporate credit trader from Credit Suisse First Boston. He will trade both cash bonds and credit derivatives.
