Protego makes European property derivatives push

He joins the firm as an international investment director in Rotterdam and will focus on the creation of property derivatives in Continental European markets.

Protego is one of the major players in the UK property derivatives market. Back in September 2005, it launched Property Index Certificates (Pics) - eurobond notes referencing retail, office and industrial property in the secondary markets.

Prior to joining Protego, de Haas spent 15 years at PGGM - a €60 billion Dutch healthcare and social work sector pension plan - where was a senior portfolio strategist.
