SG hires credit derivatives marketers

French bank SG, the investment banking division of Société Générale, has hired Daniel Schlaichert from Crèdit Agricole Indosuez and Edgar Leibovici from Mizuho International to sell credit derivatives.

Schlaichert, a Czech national who started his career with Commerzbank in Prague, has been made a vice-president to sell fixed-income derivatives to Eastern European investors. He joins SG’s derivatives solutions group, which is headed by David Ishoo-Mirzayoo in London. Schlaichert previously sold fixed-income products for Crédit Agricole Indosuez, also in London.

Meanwhile, London-based Leibovici sold credit products for Mizuho International. He has been hired as a vice-president within SG’s credit sales team and will sell credit default swaps. He will report to Karen Gabay, head of credit sales.

SG said the appointments confirm its strategy to be a “bank of reference” in euro capital markets, derivatives and structured finance.
