BarCap appoints head of US fixed-income strategy

Baygun, who starts his new position in New York at the end of this month, spent seven years with SSB, where he was latterly co-head of interest rate strategy. Prior to this he was a research scientist at Connecticut-based oil and gas research company Schlumberger-Doll Research.

“Bulent brings to Barclays outstanding credentials in relative-value and quantitative research, and has developed innovative and profitable models for trading fixed-income securities,” said Larry Kantor, head of economics and market strategy at Barclays Capital in New York. “He will be instrumental in building a top quality fixed-income research product to support our growing fixed-income franchise.”
