Bank of America hires in Japan

Bank of America has made two new appointments in Japan as part of an effort to boost its investment and risk management businesses in the country.

Mitsuaki Yamazaki has been appointed principal in corporate banking for Bank of America and Hideaki Miyato has been taken on as managing director for financial institutions at Banc of America Securities, a subsidiary of the bank. Both of the newly created positions are based in Tokyo.

Yamazaki, who is focusing on delivering debt and risk management solutions to corporate clients, reports to Yoshihiko Asano, Bank of America’s country manager for Japan. Yamazaki previously worked as an account manager for major Japanese financial institutions at Citibank.

Miyato is concentrating on offering structured and complex investment products to sophisticated investors. He came to the bank from Bayerische Hypo Vereins Bank in Tokyo, where he was head of loan and structured product sales. Miyato reports to Alok Kochhar, regional head of financial institutions in Singapore.
