Outram joins Kamakura in Asia Pacific

Honolulu-based risk management software firm, Kamakura, has made Jaqueline Outram managing director for client relationships and operations in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. She will also sit on the company's managing committee.

Outram has had spells as a risk management consultant focusing on risk-adjusted capital allocation methodologies. She previously worked as a global senior manager for shareholder value-added at ANZ Bank in Melbourne.

“Outram’s broad strategic view of risk and performance measurement has already contributed a great deal to the sophistication of the Australian banking sector, where Kamakura’s Risk Manager software product has been purchased by firms with assets in excess of $350 billion,” said Donald van Deventer, Kamakura president and chief executive.

Kamakura’s research effort is led by Cornell University’s professor Robert Jarrow, who was named Financial Engineer of the Year in 1997 by the International Association of Financial Engineers. Jarrow is an associate editor of The Journal of Risk, published by the Risk Waters Group, parent company of RiskNews. Notably, Jarrow helped develop the Heath-Jarrow-Morton model that is widely used to evaluate interest rate options.
