Bear Stearns hires Merves as senior hedge fund analyst

Bear Stearns Asset Management has hired Scott Merves as managing director and senior analyst to its equity hedge fund group, New Castle Partners.

Merves, who was previously a partner and senior equity analyst at Glenview Capital Management, will join industry veterans Mark Kurland and Robert Reitzes at the firm.

New Castle Partners, established in 1995, currently manages $1.1 billion in long/short and market-neutral domestic equity hedge funds.

Merves previously worked at Bear Stearns for seven years as a senior equity analyst.
