Barrie and Hibbert appoints senior risk management actuary

Edinburgh-based financial risk management consultants, Barrie and Hibbert, has appointed Colin Wilson as a senior consultant.

Wilson joins from Prudential M&G, where he was director of research in the portfolio management group. He was responsible for investment strategy for the company’s annuity portfolios, and used quantitative analysis and stochastic modelling to provide strategic asset allocation advice and portfolio risk control.

Andrew Barrie, director of the specialist firm, said Barrie and Hibbert’s ability to attract someone of Wilson’s calibre was “further evidence" of its "strong position" in risk management.

Wilson is a fellow of the Institution of Actuaries, deputy chairman of the actuarial profession’s Finance and Investment Board and a member of the Council of the Institute for Quantitative Investment Research.
