He succeeds Chris Page, who was promoted to group chief risk officer in August following the departure of David Stephen.

Denby will be based in Hong Kong and report to Page and the head of Asia Pacific operations, Alex Thursby. His will begin his tenure with ANZ on November 3.

Prior to his appointment Denby was regional head for risk management and credit at Nomura Asia, having previously spent a large part of his career with HSBC.
