SG names new research chief

SG has named Benoit Hubaud head of foreign exchange and interest rate strategy research, in addition to his previous responsibility as head of credit research.

Hubaud, based in Paris, will report to the bank's head of fixed income and derivatives, commodities and treasury for Europe and Asia, Gregoire Varenne. His predecessor as head of forex and interest rate strategy research, Philippe Ithurbide, has left the bank.

Vincent Chaigneau, who was named head of forex and interest rate strategy, will report in turn to Hubaud. He was previously head of interest rate strategy.

The bank said the move was part of a strategy of combining its research teams into cross-asset groups.
