BNP Paribas snares Chicago sales head

BNP Paribas has hired Matthew Schultheis as director and head of sales for its Chicago office.

Schultheis joins the Paris-based bank from Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was a director responsible for sales of government, federal agency, derivatives and mortgage securities to institutional clients. He was at the bank for 15 years.

Reporting to Vasan Varathan, head of investor coverage in the interest rates group, he joins two other salespeople in the Chicago office. The bank plans to add two more to the team by the end of the year, Varathan said.
